    Raised as an islander, Sam performed as a Minnesinger and in productions such as Cats, Urinetown, The Devil In Drag, and Chess. He was most recently seen on the Vineyard as Moritz in last summer's Spring Awakening, for which he also served as associate director. He is a sophomore at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the Lee Strasberg studio.

    Joe Essig is from St. Louis, MO, and studies Acting at Carnegie Mellon. He just made his professional debut playing Roger in Rent and Alan in One Man, Two Guvnors at the Weathervane Playhouse in Ohio, and hopes to make a career in theatre. Joe sends love and many thanks to the Hair team, the Johnsons for housing him and making him feel like family, his real family, and all supporters of the arts.

    Darby Patterson has been enthralled with the performing arts ever since she was a young girl; she is overjoyed to be playing Sheila in Hair. A Minnesinger, theatre roles have included Martha in Spring Awakening, the Witch in Into The Woods, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, and Skimbleshanks in Cats. She will be returning to MVRHS in the fall as a senior.

    Island grown, Rykerr Maynard, playing the role of Hud, is proud and honored to be joining this production of Hair. He has loved theatre and music since a very young age. Shows including Rent, Willy Wonka, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. More recently he has played the roles of the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan in Peter Pan, and Hanschen in Spring Awakening.

    Sydney was born and raised on the Vineyard. She just finished her sophomore year at George School in Newtown, PA, where she played in a production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, the Threepenny Opera, and Our Town. She couldn't be happier to be in Hair! Much love to her family and friends, but especially her mother, Leslie Sterns.
