Joshua Dimmick
Director
From Fayetteville, North Carolina, Joshua Dimmick is thrilled to be directing Matilda, his second production. A graduate of Methodist University with a degree in Theatre (’23), he is now in his second year of teaching. Throughout the rehearsal process, he has loved watching his students grow as performers and individuals, and he is incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. He is grateful to Amy Stovall for her mentorship and to his family, especially his mother, for their unwavering support.

Amy Stovall
Director
Amy Stovall is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. Mrs. Stovall received her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and is a National Board Certified teacher. This is Mrs. Stovall's 16th year as the choral director at GCHS and her 20th year in education. Mrs. Stovall and her husband, Tommy, GCHS band director, live in the Gray’s Creek community with their children, Ginger (16) and Patrick (10). Their oldest son, Christopher (24), is currently serving in the Air Force.
The musical theatre program at GCHS has been incredibly rewarding for her professionally and personally. It has been a joy to watch her students grow as musicians, actors, and humans during this production process and she is enormously proud of them. She would like to thank Tommy and the kids for their love and support. She has really enjoyed working with Mr. Dimmick and looks forward to many more shows together!

Dennis Kelly
Dennis Kelly:Work for theatre includes Debris, Osama the Hero, After the End, Love and Money, Taking Care of Baby, DNA, Orphans, The Gods Weep, and The Ritual Slaughter of Gorge Mastromas. He has written the book for the new musical of Pinocchio which opens at the National Theatre at the end of 2017, and in 2018 his new play Girls and Boys opens at the Royal Court. His plays have been performed worldwide and to date have been translated into nearly forty languages. For television he co-wrote and co-created Pulling and wrote and created Utopia, and for film he wrote the screenplay for Black Sea, directed by Kevin MacDonald. He also wrote the book for the Olivier and Tony winning Matilda the Musical. In 2010 DNA became a set text on the GCSE English Literature syllabus.
