Wanna know the truth?  Not that the truth really matters…

The truth is that Chicago is a fabulous musical and you are in for a delightful evening.  We’ve been wanting to do the show for several years and Mr. Marr had to apply his considerable magic to get the rights for us.  You may think it a surprising choice for a high school given its racy, raucous nature, but think about the world our kids are facing – reality as celebrity; vice as virtue and truth as elusive as ever.  Important issues are being explored in this show while ensconced in fabulous music, exuberant dancing, huge production numbers, a fabulous set and lots, and lots of humor.

Wait until you see our kids in this show!  The show is spectacular.  It’s especially spectacular when you consider that the students have had two months to put it on while they have also done all of the regular things that high school students do: homework, course work, college essays, SAT’s and ACT’s, athletic teams, youth groups, social events, friendships, negotiations with parents, driving (DRIVING – YIKES!) romances, academic teams, etc, etc.

This show is a tribute to how wonderful our students are and how hard they work.  It is also a tribute to the Chicago production team, our faculty and this community.   We are very lucky to be in a school district that understands the value and importance of the arts.

Thanks to the school board, the district administrators, and the Great Neck community for knowing how essential performing arts are to our schools.

Thanks to Tommy Marr and to all the adults and kids who worked on Chicago.

Thanks especially to the parents who have shared their children with us and entrusted them in our care for a brief four years.

And thanks to our students who make Great Neck South High School a joyous place to come to work every day and who are now providing you with this exceptional experience.

Relax, enjoy and all that jazz.
