Flight of Fantasy - February 16 - February 17, 2019

Highland Park United Methodist Church

 In Honor of Sue Ringle

At Sue Ringle's memorial service on June 22, 2018, Rev. Paul Rasmussen, Senior Minister of HPUMC, said:

"Because of Sue's insistence, resolve, and commitment, we have arguably the finest theatre program for young adults with disabilities of any program of its kind in the country."

Sue was inspired to begin a theatre program for older teens and adults with disabilities in Dallas after seeing a similar program in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where her nephew was an actor.

This year marks the ninth year of Spotlight Musical Theatre, formerly Jesters.  There have been many opportunities for actors to learn new skills and grow as artists.  All of the curtain calls would not have happened without the passion, energy, and drive that Sue poured into Spotlight Musical Theatre.

Unfortunately, Sue was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy a few years ago and she died on June 13, 2018.  Sue is survived by her husband, Brett, and her son, Kyle.

Sue left an imprint through her life and work with Spotlight Musical Theatre, which will remain a part of her legacy.

Because of her devotion to the actors and their families, the roses in the birthday party scene of Flight of Fantasy are in honor of Sue.
