as Matilda Wormwood
Kayla Clay is 13 years old and attended Sebring Middle School. She came to us from Miami where she performed in 5 different plays including the lead role of Matilda. Kayla paints, sings, plays the guitar and ukulele. She is enjoying her new, amazing friends at HLT.

Amanda Mercer
as Agatha Trunchbull
Amanda is excited to celebrate 15 years at HLT. She has been a very active member for the past 15 years from being on stage, working backstage, directing, serving on the board, and chairing several commitees. She is greatful for the friends she has made along the way. She loves to see the organization grow and provide such quality performances in a small town. Amanda has really enjoyed playing this role and working along side such a talented cast of Highlands county youth.

Abigail Amash
as Miss Honey
This is Abigail’s first production with HLT and is so excited to be a part of Matilda. Abigail is originally from Upstate New York and is new to Highlands County. She is currently 23yrs old and a senior at Southeastern University as a Vocal Performance Major. Some of her favorite roles that she has done are Serena in Legally Blonde the Musical (SHS Theatre), Fiona in Shrek the Musical (TAPS), Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins (TAPS), Kathy in Company (SEU Music Dept), and Red in Into the Woods (SEU Music Dept). She has also danced twice with the Moscow Ballet in the Great Russian Nutcracker. Thank you to Abigail’s parents, Patrick Anderson, and Edward Bryant for all their support!
