Technical Theatre 1 & 2: Students will concentrate on the major areas of theatre technology including production design, construction, and marketing. Students will learn how to design sets, scenery, lights, sound, and learn about the responsibilities and roles for director, stage manager, and house manager. CTE, Fine Arts, or College credit

IB Film SL & HL: Students will learn methods of analyzing and critically viewing several films from a variety of genres, time periods and countries. They will study topics such as plot and sequencing, acting and character, scriptwriting, setting and props, camera work, sound and light, and other practical and technical skills of production. They will present their analysis of film segments, research and write a rationale for a documentary, and finally produce several short films. Fine Arts Credit (IB Group 6)

Theatre Production: Students rehearse and stage a formal musical production for performances in our Performing Art Center. Students may be required to attend rehearsals in addition to the normal class schedule. Auditions are generally a year in advance in the spring. The production for the Spring 2023 session is Little Shop of Horrors. Contact Mr. Glover or your counselor if you are interested in this elective. Fine Arts Credit

Theatre Workshop: This class covers the basics of stage performance including blocking, improvisation, voice, and writing for the stage. Scene work includes character study, dramatic structure, dialogue, puppetry, stage combat, and the collaborative process of bringing an idea to the stage. Fine Arts Credit

AUDITION INFORMATION

Auditions for the Fall Play will take place on September 6-8, 2023.

Spring Musical auditions will take place on March 11-12, 2024 for the following year's production. Enrollment in the Theatre Production class (2nd semester) is required.
