A WORD FROM THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

As always, I am incredibly grateful to the cast, production team, and crew for this show and for all the students who call themselves “a player”.

This is now my sixth and final show assistant directing at Iona and each time I am awed by the dedication of the cast, crew, and production team.  Twelfth Night the Musical is a relatively new show.  Not only does it encompass big songs and dances, but Shakespeare language to top it all off.  With countless hours of rehearsals, this cast and team has been committed to portraying these characters and this story.  None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our director Jason Summers, our musical director Kathryn Krull, and our stage manager Tim Chevrette who I would like to thank for everything they have done for myself and the cast.  I would also like to give a big thank you to our costumer, Maya Evans, who put in countless hours to make sure everyone looks and feels their best on stage and our live band for all of their amazing work.

I would also to give a big thank you to our executive board.  Without them, the Iona Players would not be able to accomplish everything we have this past year.  I would like to give a big shoutout to my vice president, Brenden Martinez, who none of this would be possible without.

The Iona Players is most certainly not the average college theatre club.  I have had the privilege of being the stage crew representative for 2 years and the honor of serving as the President the last 1.5 years.  Every year, whether it is new or returning members, I am able to witness how much this club does for people.  While it gives students a place to perform and express themselves, it also is a place where lifelong friendships are formed, and students grow.  I know I certainly found my lifelong friends here.

To my fellow seniors, a big congratulations!  I know we will all go off to do amazing things, and I hope we can use what we have learned here to better ourselves and the world around us.

It is truly an honor to sign off my last show as President and assistant director.  I hope everyone enjoys the show and break a leg to the cast and crew!
