About the Madagascar Jr. Summer on the Stage Production Camp
Irving Youth Theatre's Madagascar Jr. Summer on the Stage Production Camp provided students in grades 3–9 with a unique opportunity to experience every aspect of bringing a musical to life. In addition to acting, singing, and dancing, campers explored technical theatre, stage management, sound, lighting, costumes, props, marketing, and front-of-house operations. During their time at the Irving Arts Center, students worked alongside theatre professionals and educators while preparing for today's fully staged performance. This innovative program helped young artists build confidence, creativity, leadership, and teamwork skills while gaining a behind-the-scenes understanding of how live theatre comes together. The production you enjoying represents not only their performance talents, but also their contributions to the many creative and technical elements that helped bring Madagascar Jr. from concept to curtain call. Special thanks to the Irving Department of Arts and Culture for their support through the Innovation Grant award.
