  • Roxie Hood

    Director

    Roxie is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. She holds a B.A. in mathematics with a minor in theatre from Millsaps College, as well as a Master of Education in Teaching Arts from Mississippi College. Since graduation she has been seen in over a dozen community performances as well as commercials. Her favorite productions include "Cabaret" and "Little Shop of Horrors" (Actor's Playhouse), "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Assassins" (Fondren Theatre Workshop), "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" (New Stage Unframed), and "Sweeney Todd" (Madison Center Players). Her directing credits at Jackson Academy include "The Wizard of Oz" and "The 9 Worst Breakups of All Time," which competed at the North Mississippi High School Festival held in Starkville in December 2014. She taught fifth grade for four years and is currently in her second year of teaching Algebra II to tenth and eleventh graders. She now lives in Brandon with her husband, David.

  • Andy Prince

    Technical Director

    Andrew Prince is in his fourth year serving as Technical Director of the Jackson Academy Performing Arts Center. While on staff, he has been involved in several productions including "The Wizard of Oz," "Bye Bye, Birdie," and "Little Shop of Horrors." He also helps train the JA students in the art of theatrical lighting and sound. Andy has a diverse technical background, from nuclear submarine service in the U.S. Navy to industry certification in network engineering. His passion is lighting design, and he has more than 10 years experience in concert, theatre, special event, and worship applications. He has worked with various national acts such as Jason Aldean, Boyz II Men, Starship, and Switchfoot. He also does work with New Stage Theatre, the only professional theatre in the state. He is a proud husband and father of four-year-old twin boys, and he is honored to be a part of the JA Performing Arts family.
