Michelle Phillips Semrick (Choreographer), a Louisville native, attended the Youth Performing Arts High School before going on to earn her BFA in dance from the University of Arizona (Magna Cum Lauda). A few highlights of her professional dance career include high kicking with the Radio City Rockettes, traveling the world while serving as dance captain with Royal Caribbean International and dancing with Spectrum Dance Theater (Seattle).  For 13 years Michelle served as a teaching artist/choreographer for National Dance Institute, a dance and music program in New York City’s public schools founded by legendary dancer Jacques d’Amboise.  Witnessing the power that the arts have in transforming the lives of children, Michelle founded SHINE arts, a dance and music organization that strives to inspire, engage and bring children together through high-quality dance education.  Michelle also stays busy choreographing locally with ACTLouisville Productions (The Sound of Music and HONK the Musical) and is thrilled to be a part of the JHS Godspell creative team.
