Caleb Thurston
Director
Caleb Thurston is a theatre educator and director from Salem, Oregon. He currently serves as theatre director at Woodburn High School where his favorite directing credits include Fiddler on the Roof, Seussical, The Crucible, Peter and the Starcatcher, Sin Miedo and La Gringa, among others. He has also taught at St. Helens High School, C.S. Lewis Academy, West Salem High School and George Fox University. From 2011-2015 he served as co-founder and executive director of Valley Repertory Theatre in Newberg, Oregon. Caleb’s favorite challenges include collaboratively devising new works of theatre that cross language and cultural barriers. His most prized role is playing dad to Alice, Elizabeth and Laura and husband to Heidi. 2 Samuel 6:14.

Amy Forstrom
Musical Director
Amy loves the arts and has been involved in music and theater from childhood. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and taught high school choir, speech, and drama until having a family of her own. Ever since she has taught private piano and voice lessons, seeing many of her students excel at the internationally recognized ABRSM. She is also involved in leading worship at her church and various conferences in the area. Amy is married to her best friend Mark, has three boys, Drew, Alex and Titus, and a mini-Australian shepherd named Copper. Being involved with Journey as a musical director has been a highlight for Amy and her whole family. Most recently she directed the music for Fiddler on the Roof and couldn’t be more excited to be part of the artistic team for Newsies, her family’s favorite Broadway show!
