The Family of Gina Fecko

     We have chosen Gina Fecko and her family as the beneficiary of this year's benefit.  Gina and her husband, P.J. Fecko, have five children, Lia, Lexi, Patrick, Vincent, and Gianna.  Her three daughters are all former students of Kathi's Dance & Gym Center.  This summer Gina was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer.  Because she is only 44 years old, her doctors have recommended that she receive an aggressive combination of chemotherapy and radiation, in the hopes of shrinking her tumor, followed by two surgeries.  These treatments are expected to last up to a year or more.  While her family is hopeful that this plan of care will cure Gina, we know the emotional and financial toll this will take on her and her family.  Gina traveled an hour and a half each way to Cleveland clinic 5 days a week for radiation treatments and is now going every two weeks for her chemotherapy treatments.  While undergoing radiation and chemotherapy, Gina will be forced to take an extended leave from her job at an imaging company.  She may not be back at work until September 2021.  Sadly, her husband lost his job as a football coach three weeks before her diagnosis, losing a large portion of their income.  We are hopeful that we will be able to help this family in their time of need.
