PROLOUGE: STREET SANTAS
As the holiday season begins, we see Street Santa’s all over town preparing for Christmas! How will we know who the real Kris Kringle is? Our story will answer that question for you.
ACT I: COLE’S DEPARTMENT STORE
We are in New York City where everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit. Dori, the promotion manager for Cole’s department store, has hired a Santa Claus for the holidays. Her competitors from Shopper’s Express are concerned about this Santa’s popularity. Through all the hustle and bustle, Susan, Dori’s daughter and Sammy, a deaf child, start to believe that this Santa might be the real Kris Kringle!
ACT II: ROCKEFELLER SQUARE
On a beautiful winter day Dori spends time in Rockefeller Square contemplating the magic of her hired Santa and her proposal from Brian. There seems to be love all around.
ACT III: SANTA’S DEMISE
Shopper’s Express devise a plan to convince everyone that the Cole’s Santa is crazy because he believes he is the real Santa! As Susan writes a letter to Santa, he is taken to court to prove his sanity and true identity. Susan presents the judge with a dollar bill, inscribed with the words, “In God We Trust”. The judge’s decision becomes clear, through faith we believe and trust in God, through the eyes of a child we can also believe and trust in Kris Kringle.
