Thank you for continuing to support our theatre arts program through these unusual times. It has been a crazy ride and full of twists and turns, but we are happy that we were able to perform this show live, even if it was just for the camera and a house full of cardboard cut-outs. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we adhered to recommended safety protocols while creating this piece of theatre, such as…
- Maintaining safe distance in rehearsals
- Washing hands or using hand sanitizer between scenes
- Wearing masks at all times
- Not sharing microphones or costumes
We also did some things a little differently, such as
- Creating cardboard cut-outs to put in our theater seats to create a non-live audience
- Recording the show in sections like a movie, and not from start to finish as we usually do
- Pre-recording all the musical numbers (since we were not allowed to sing on stage during the performance) and then lip-syncing to ourselves while filming
It was a lesson in resilience, patience, and teamwork, but I am convinced we are all better for having been through it and proud that we accomplished what we set out to do. Thanks to everyone who went the extra mile to put this project together!
