as Tracy Turnblad
Cast in the role of Tracy Turnblad, Destiny is a sophomore and a member of the Lakewood High School Chorus. This is her first musical and she dreams of becoming a professional singer. As she was growing up she sang at her grandmothers Sunday school and attended a musical arts class called “Broadway Bound”; inspiring her to one day have a career in music.

as Corny Collins
I am Alex Nieves and am playing the role of Corny Collins. I have participated in any other theatrical performances so this will be a historical moment for me. One of my goals is to become a well-known musician with the band (a work in progress). As for education, I plan to attend college in another year; after I save enough money and take a break from school. I want to major in music or art.

as Edna
As a senior, I play the role of Edna Turnblad, but this is not my first appearance. I played the nurse in The Outsiders, the politician in Check Please and last year I played Frenchy in Grease. I am a member of the drama club and President of the LHS National Thespian Society. I will attend Georgian Court University to study Criminal Justice. “I would like to thank my family their support.”

I am a current freshman at Lakewood High School and have known Mr. Salguero since the 4th grade. In fact, my first three musicals were directed by him. My other involvements include the chorus, volleyball and the Latin American Student Organization, of which I am the Vice President. I am also the Manager of Lakewood High Schools’ baseball team. Gabriela Fuentes
as Velma Von Tussle
I am a junior at LHS and play the part of Velma Von Tussle. I also played Mrs. Lynch in last year’s production of Grease. I am a singer at my church, and will be inducted into the LHS National Thespian Society. I am an active member of the LHS G.S.A and assisted Mr. Brian Snyder with backstage and tech.
