Little Shop of Horrors - April 04 - April 06, 2019

Legacy Visual and Performing Arts High School

 End Notes

From Sahira Romero, Student Director:

It was an honor directing this play! I learned so much in the process. I want to say thank you to the amazing cast I got to work with, they put in hard work and dedication to the play. Without them we wouldn't be able to do Little Shop of Horrors. Thank you for giving it your all and thank you to the amazing Staff who helped us with the props and set. There was many ups and downs, many hours put in to the show to make it wonderful. Thank you to the choreographers for coming up with the amazing dances!

Enjoy,

Sahira

From Ms. Stacie Craig, Director:

Although my time at VAPA has been short, my students and I have accomplished a lot. We've grown in our class curriculum, our professionalism, and stage presence. "Little Shop of Horror" is our fourth musical production and with every show we become more confident and secure in our theatrical pratice. I am very fortunate to have a group of young people that are talented, dedicated, and passionate about the art of performance. My cast, this year, has worked tirelessly and enthusiastically to create a production that everyone would be proud of. So please enjoy our spring musical production of "Little Shop of Horror" and don't feed the plants!

Thank you for coming,

Ms.Craig

From Dr. Trimis, Executive Producer:

I mark the years as they go by at my schools by musicals we produced and the experience that our school community shared through those musicals. So I think about my past schools when we produced Bye, Bye Birdie, Hairspray, OliverBeauty and the Beast, and The Wiz, and I think of the many productions at VAPA. Of course, in the four years that preceeded my tenure, there were shows and musicals. Dracula, Grease, Sweet Charity. And we will always be thankfull for those that have come before us because they helped us get where we are. We have built all we have done on their success. But I believe what has really pushed us forward has been the consistency in our staff and the hard work they have put in developing our program over the last 3 years. Ms. Craig, Mr. Delgado and Mr. Cuevas have been here for almost the entire time and they welcome visiting musical director, Kevin Patterson, to round out the production team for this show. We have seen our shows go from good to great and it has been quite an exciting ride. I just need to look at what we've done and see how we have grown, and I know we are on the right track. The Breakfast Club, High School Musical and Disney Opening Act, Elf, Aladdin, Real Life, A Christmas Carol, and now, Little Shop of Horrors. I am so extremely proud of the work we are doing at Legacy VAPA. Thank you to Ms. Craig, and our wonderful directors including student director, Sahira Romero. Thank you to our families and firends who have supported the show and, especially, thank you to the wonderful performers you will see today in this production. We're proud of you and we love you!

Enjoy the show!

Dr. Trimis, Principal
