Alan D. Kaplan
Artistic Director
The founder and artistic director of Manchester Community Theatre Players (MCTP) and Second Stage Professional Company has been associated with performing arts for 62 years as a performer, make-up artist, technical director, set and lighting designer, choreographer, and stage director. He has been involved with over 100 productions in both community and professional theaters. Alan is the 2014 recipient of the NH Good Samaritan Award for his theater work with adults and children, and the 2017 Distinguished Merit Award recipient by the American Association of Community Theatre. He also served as a judge in the 2016 Regional Idol Scholarship Competition.
Alan retired after 37 years as a clinical cardiologist, but still serves as an aviation medical legal consultant and medical director for both the URJ summer camp and the summer camps of the NH Boy Scouts of America. Alan has a very supportive wife and 5 children, including two involved in professional theater.

Marc Michael Murai
Director
Marc, a Los Angeles native, was a member of the first graduating class of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and a graduate of the Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts. He was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts by President Reagan, for which he was honored at a White House ceremony along with a solo performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Marc’s directing credits include: the CA Central Coast premiere of Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes, The west coast premiere of the musical Honk!, South Pacific, Seussical (Actorsingers), Aladdin, Jr. (Stage 284), Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Stage 284), Once of This Island (MCTP) and 1776 (Bedford Off Broadway). His television productions have garnered a total of nine Emmy’s and the George Foster Peabody Award. Marc currently resides in Bedford with his wife Sarah, and their two beautiful children, Carter and Cassie.

John Carey
Musical Director
John Carey has been actively involved in the New Hampshire arts community for over a decade. As both a pianist and composer, he has won numerous awards and has achieved international recognition. He has both performed in and musically directed a wide variety of theatrical productions, and as a soloist, he has performed Classical musical and Jazz across the United States and abroad.
