Grease - July 19

Marshalltown Community Theatre

 DIRECTOR'S NOTES

I first directed "Grease" on the MCT stage in 1982. It was a fun ride and a hit with our theater goers.

I hesitated bringing it back for a new run, but decided that our new audiences should share in this fun, summer romp.

I was so fortunate to be able to put together a great, talented cast for this new production. Over forty people have worked on this show and we've had such a good time putting it all together!

It wouldn't have been possible without dedicated tech crews, set builders, choreographers, costumers and orchestra members. All volunteers and all so talented - working together to bring our audiences an enjoyable time at the theater.

My thanks to all involved who gave so much of their time to bring "Grease" back to our stage. We hope you will enjoy watching us on our trip back to the 50's!

~ In Memoriam ~

In loving memory of Kevin Lageschulte and Kevin Maring who graced our stage, both in front of the curtain and behind the scenes, for many years. Sadly, we lost them both within the last year and that loss will always be with us.

Their contributions to the community went beyond MCT. They were talented, generous with their time and dedicated to their craft. They were a joy to know and to work with. They were both taken from us much too soon.

In February of 1994 we witnessed what was perhaps their best MCT stage performances, opposite each other as George and Lenny in John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men". We miss them both and we trust they are once again walking the road together . . .

"I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you. . ."

John Steinbeck,

"Of Mice and Men"
