May River Theatre

 CREW

  • DIRECTOR Liz McGinnes

Having been involved as actor, director, set designer, production manager and in most crew roles since her school days in the UK, Liz is very happy to have returned to theatre here in the Lowcountry  She has acted in way too many Alan Ayckbourn comedies and Ray Cooney farces but now her most comfortable position is in the director’s chair.  As a director, her favorite shows include: The Foreigner, All My Sons, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and Sylvia.

It’s been a blast working with Chris, Ellie, Gregg and Joe, four of the funniest, smartest people you’ll find in this area.  Thank you to Beth Schlieger for all of her support and hard-work.

Liz’s favorite Shakespeare quote is:  “..there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so” (Hamlet)

  • STAGE MANAGER Ellie Friedman

Ellie is elated to return to the local theatre scene, albeit in a role she’s never before attempted.  Ellie has been involved in community theatre since the age of nine as Molly in Annie Warbucks at the Hilton Head Playhouse in 1995.  Favorite roles include: the Narrator in Joseph…, Rizzo in Grease, The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, Gertrude in Seussical, Lily St. Regis in Annie, Jenny in Company, Woodstock in Charlie Brown, and Emily Arden in State Fair.  So much gratitude to Liz for inviting her to participate in this production. All her love to her patient and spectacular daughters, Lily and Jemma.

Ellie's favorite Shakespeare quote is:  “Lord, what fools these mortals be.” (A Midsummer Night’s Dream)
