Director's Note
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Montini Catholic High School's Production of Peter and the Starcatcher. I am proud that our theatre program has been growing, and we now have more than thirty students involved in both the cast and crew! Peter was a clear choice for this year's fall play; this story offers a captivating and imaginative prequel to the classic Peter Pan tale. It delves into the origins of Peter Pan and other familiar characters, showcasing creativity and sparking curiosity among the audience. It has also allowed for the cast to explore non-traditional staging and characterization techniques.
Peter follows the journey of a young orphan named Peter and his encounters with a magical substance called Starstuff, exploring how he becomes the iconic "boy who never grows up." It explores themes of self-discovery, the power of belief, and the magic that resides within individuals. The play captures the spirit of childhood and the transformative journey that shapes Peter into the timeless and adventurous character audiences have come to adore. The blend of humor, fantasy, and heartwarming moments encourages us to embrace our own unique identity and destiny.
It is no secret that putting on a production takes extraordinary efforts and dedicated individuals. I would like to personally thank Mr. Donnie Glowinski, Mr. Jeff Nowicki, Mr. Charlie Brewick, and Mrs. Beth DiMarco for providing many opportunities for our students to learn foundational theatre skills and Mr. Kevin Beirne and Mr. Chris Tiritilli for their trust in me and for giving me this opportunity to direct the MCHS Theatre Program. I would also like to thank my family for their constant support and of course, the cast and crew students for making theatre a fun and rewarding experience.
