J. Matthew Gordon
Artistic Director/Co-founder/Producer
J. Matthew has worked extensively in theatre and film as an actor, director, producer, and educator for over thirty years. He studied directing at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and holds an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As Founding Artistic Director of New Canon Theatre Co., he guides the company's artistic vision and oversees its productions. His work as an actor and director has been seen at regional theatres across the country, and his film and television work has spanned the globe. An educator, he has taught at several colleges and universities, including The University of Texas at Austin, teaching acting, stage combat, and Shakespeare in the B.F.A. actor training program. He currently serves as Chair of Theatre at the New Mexico School for the Arts. J. Matthew is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, and SDC, and splits his time between Monterey and Santa Fe with his family.

Justine Stock
Managing Director/Co-founder/Producer
Justine Stock (she/her/ella) is a Miami-born artist with Latin roots, creating between Monterey, CA & Mexico City. Managing Director & Co-founder of New Canon Theatre Co., she is an actress, producer, adventurer, mother, and devoted arts advocate who has been performing since the age of eight. Trained at Miami's New World School of the Arts, she went on to attend the SUNY Purchase College Theatre Conservatory, graduating cum laude. Her work has carried her across regional stages, international festivals, and into independent cinema. Theatre credits include Life Sucks, Finding Chase, Rockaby, Henry V, The Taming of the Shrew, and On the Road (Edinburgh Fringe Festival). She produces all New Canon Theatre Co. productions and champions stories that foster connection, challenge division, and place humanity at the center of the cultural conversation. www.justinestock.com
