Leah Purdy
Director
Leah has been the Director of Choirs/Musicals at NPHS for 15 years. Musicals under her direction have included West Side Story, The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Shrek, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Music Man, which was awarded the NHSTA Award for Outstanding Musical in 2017. She is also a seasoned performer, having held lead roles in numerous musicals as well as serving as a soprano soloist for performances of Handel's Messiah with the Nebraska Chamber Orchestra. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from NWU and a Master's of Music Education Degree from UNK. When she's not busy at school, Leah can be found playing the role of her kids' biggest fan at their football, volleyball or basketball games or at track meets! Leah is grateful for her students and the amazing experiences that they give her every year. She is also SO thankful for her husband Ryan and their three children, Elliott, Carly and Addie!

Brittany McDaniel
Assistant Director
Brittany McDaniel is the speech and theatre teacher at NPHS and has been a Bulldog teacher for the past six years. She received her BA in Communication Studies and Theatre from the University of Sioux Falls and her MA in Theatre from Regent University. With over 50 productions under her belt McDaniel is no stranger to the stage. Some of her favorite roles include Vladimir in Waiting for Godot, Judy in White Christmas, and Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical the Musical. This is McDaniel's second year assisting with the musical and it's her favorite time of year. Brittany and her husband, Sam, have three children: Allen, Johanna, and Gracelynn, and two cats: Sushi and Pat Pat. When not busy at school or rehearsal, she can be found crafting or running. The whole McDaniel family is also very active with First Baptist Church and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
