Welcome aboard the S.S. American! I am thrilled to share this production of Anything Goes with you. Audiences across the world have fallen in love with Cole Porter’s classic score, the unforgettable characters, and iconic dance numbers.
At its heart, Anything Goes is about love, laughter, and ambition. While the world has changed a lot since the show first opened on Broadway in 1934, the themes of the show - embracing adventure, taking risks, and searching for connection - are just as relevant today. I hope our production continues to bring the same joy and laughter as it has for nearly a century.
Bringing this production to life has been one heck of a journey. Many of the students, who you will see performing a very intricate tap number, put on a pair of tap shoes for the first time this past January! Their hard work and dedication to the show are truly incredible. Every member of the cast and crew has worked tirelessly to make this show happen.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our talented performers and crew members, and the amazing production team who made this show possible. I also would like to thank the NHS administration team, parents, and volunteers for their endless support throughout this journey. Theatre is very much a collaborative art - it literally takes a village to put on a show! This production would not be possible without the passion and commitment of everyone involved. To my seniors, as you take your final bow at NHS, I hope this experience is one you will never forget. I am proud to be your director.
Bon Voyage!
