Bye Bye Birdie - March 10 - March 12, 2023

Oyster Bay High School

 Director's Note

Welcome to Oyster Bay High School’s Production of Bye Bye Birdie.  This upbeat, energetic musical brings us back to 1958 and the era of rock and roll.  Back when fan clubs were very serious business and when you used the telephone you were connected to a cord.  Join us as we follow the events of Conrad Birdie’s life once he has been drafted into the army.  As a send off, he will perform one last time and kiss the president of the Bye Bye Birdie fan club.  We leave NY behind and journey all the way to the small town of Sweet Apple, Ohio.

A special thank you to Dr. Ianni, Ms. Raynor, Ms. Gallegos, Mr. Farina, and the Board of Education for providing this opportunity to the students.  This program continues to grow and educate students in the arts.  The students have a place to learn about the complexity of theater and the experience it can bring to an audience.  A very special thank you to Ms. Argaman, Mr. Locastro, Mr. Pardue, Dr. Vacchio, and Ms. Menuzzo for all of their support to ensure the success of this program!  Thank you Mr. Rispoli and the custodial staff for all of their assistance.  To the production team, Miss Kemp, Mr. Fludd, Mr. Sisia, Ms. Randazzo, Mr. Dollin, and Ms. Giglio Pac, you are such an incredible group of talented and passionate artists each in your own field. I am very grateful to have had you by my side during this program.  Last but never least, I would like to thank all of the students involved in this production.  Your enthusiasm and love for what each of you brings to the stage is inspiring. To the seniors, it will not be easy to see you graduate and move on from our stage at OBHS. You have been an integral part of this program for a very long time.  Thank you for being role models for the younger members of the cast, crew, and pit. I hope you know that you will always be a part of our theater family.

Sincerely,

        Ms. Chiappardi
