Steven Prescod (Performer/Co-Writer/Producer) was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, by single mother, Kathyann Marrast. He found himself in trouble with the law, but was fortunate to participate in an alternative to incarceration program that placed him with The CityKids Foundation, which introduced him to the world of acting. After his time at CityKids, Steven and his mentor, Moises Roberto Belizario, developed a theatrical piece telling the story of his life which ultimately became A Brooklyn Boy. Steven has been featured in Blind starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore, and The Private Life of a Modern Woman featuring Sienna Miller and Alec Baldwin.
Moises Roberto Belizario (Director/Co-Writer/Producer/Music Direction) was born and raised in Brooklyn, East New York by way of the Dominican Republic. He is the seventh born of nine children, eight of which were boys. Moises found his niche in the family as the storyteller. It was a natural fit for his creativity. For 10 years, Moises severed as the Artistic Director of The CityKids Foundation where he inspired and developed young people to find their voices through the performing arts. His work with young people has been seen from homeless shelters and the White House, to Carnegie Hall and high schools throughout New York City. Through his work, Moises hopes to fill an artistic void by creating works that speak truthfully about Latino & African-American cultures.
Deborah Dorman (Producer) is a producer, project manager, community leader, advocate, business owner and volunteer. She has worked alongside Moises Roberto Belizario for the last 12 years, assisting him working with young people at The CityKids Foundation and Jefferson Awards Foundation. At CityKids, she and Moises worked with the young people to produce four dramatic/music videos created from their ideas and voices. More recently Deborah co-produced and served as a project manager for the Jefferson Awards Foundation Students in Action Leadership Conference for NYC public school students. Previously, Deborah and her family founded, directed, and operated High Hoops, a basketball-life skills camp in the largest low-income housing development in Trenton, NJ for 11 years. Since 1998, she and her husband have run Jeff Dorman and Associates International, a strategic planning and leadership development company. They live in Princeton, NJ and have four children aged 21-31.
Elyse Sholk (Producer/General Manager) is a social justice theater producer and second year Wharton MBA student. She is a Co-Founder and Executive Producer at Mightee Shero Productions, which partnered with the Kings County Re-Entry Task Force in 2015 to commission Here To Be Seen: Women and Justice, an original collection of short plays inspired by conversations with formerly incarcerated women. In 2016, Mightee Shero produced the first performance of The Vagina Monologues at a men’s prison, featuring a cast of formerly incarcerated women and professional actresses. Elyse served as a Teach For America corps member in Philadelphia where she received TFA’s Regional Transformational Teaching Award for her impact inside and outside of the classroom. Jordan Battiste (Producer/Music Direction) is a music producer and filmmaker residing in Harlem, NYC. He has procured placements on various film and TV projects, appeared on MTV’s P. Diddy’s Starmaker and MADE, and was instrumental in the signing of pop artist Marco Foster to multi-platinum artist, Flo Rida, the signing of Hip Hop/Pop band, Pants Velour, to Tommy Boy Entertainment, LLC., and produced music for Shaun T’s workout DVD project, CIZE. Jordan is currently the CEO of The Panda Bandit, LLC.
Laurie Meadoff (Producer) is a youth culturalist and always has her pulse on youth culture. She has spent over 30 years working and producing content with Millennial and Gen Z throughout the world. As the founder of The CityKids Foundation, she makes sure the voice of youth are heard, creating campaigns and global programs and working with brands like Mastercard, Pepsi, and Burger King. As co-founder of Chat Ventures, Laurie executive produced award-winning programming for Nickelodeon, Disney, ABC, MTV, and VH1 and has two Emmy nominations. She co-created the innovative television series, Chat the Planet, linking young people around the globe and reaching 350 million homes as well as the critically acclaimed web series Hometown Baghdad. She has received a Rockefeller Fellowship and has lectured to youth entrepreneurs from Hong Kong to Bangalore and was part of the Cultural Diplomacy panels for the Brookings Institute in Doha.
