Welcome to the Community, where certain emotions are obsolete; where citizens are assigned to family groups; where biological functions are medically repressed; where morning and evening rituals of Dream Telling and Sharing of Feelings are required; where memories of the world are eliminated from all but one member, who alone bears all the joy and all the weight.
Welcome to the Community where children are closely observed in their eleventh year by the Elders; where childhood is highly valued to prepare children for their jobs which are revealed at the Ceremony of Twelve; where 12 is the time childhood ends and service to the Community begins.
