History of Rubber City Shakespeare Company
Rubber City Shakespeare Company was founded in 2013 by Dane CT Leasure. The company's first production A Midsummer Night's Dream opened in summer of 2013. The company grew from using lecture halls at the University of Akron to its current home at the Summit Artspace. Since its inception Rubber City Shakes has mounted fourteen fully staged productions and one staged reading.
Synopsis
Three witches confront the great Scottish general Macbeth on his victorious return from a war between Scotland and Norway. The Scottish king, Duncan, decides that he will confer the title of the traitorous Cawdor on the heroic Macbeth. Macbeth and another General called Banquo happen upon the three witches. The witches predict that he will one day become king. Macbeth and his wife agree to kill Duncan. Duncan’s children leave Scotland in fear for their lives. The crown passes to Macbeth. More murders ensue…
