DIRECTOR'S NOTE
Dear RYT Friends and Family,
Annie Jr. takes place in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil plot, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable pup named Sandy. Together, your kids have worked extremely hard to bring to life this wonderful story. We hope that you, too, are transformed by what you see, never lose hope, and always remember that no matter if it’s a cloudy day the sun will come out tomorrow.
As I sat down to write this I was overwhelmed thinking about the power of community. The cast, crew, production staff and our many community/parent volunteers have worked tirelessly to bring this story to life for you amidst laughter, excitement, and the pure joy of working together. I am honored to make my directorial debut alongside such a team, one that truly embodies the community. This production is one of passion and love from everyone involved and we hope that is shown on this stage today.
A special thank you to The Paramount Theatre crew that allows us the incredible opportunity to perform in this beautiful theater, spend countless hours doing ticketing, and managing the house during productions. Please know how much we value and appreciate all you do to make productions like this possible.
