I am absolutely thrilled to have directed this year’s All-City Musical: “The Sound of Music”! This musical means so much to so many people, including myself. It was easy to say yes to directing again.
I remember my mother and aunt would sing “Edelweiss” for me at bed time. I was often compared to Gretl myself with the chubby cheeks and curly brown hair, I think my mom even made clothes so I would look like her even more.
The story is so beautiful on so many levels. We have young love, the feeling of not belonging, the loss of a family member, the love of music, all tangled into the very real history of pre-World War II.
I have enjoyed working with this talented, mature, and fun cast and will miss being with them dearly! They help teach me how to be a kid again and for that I thank them. I also want to thank the parents who have helped endlessly with every aspect of the show. I couldn’t have done it without you.
Finally, I’d like to thank Bob Landry and Nicole Couture Skorb for teaming up with me to produce a successful show. Your hard work and energy never goes unnoticed and I am proud to work with you.
