A project like this has many trials and tribulations that need to be overcome for everyone involved. With these trials come great rewards.
This year's cast has come so far in such a short time. Between snow days, cutting our time in the auditorium (because of how the calendar falls) and everything the students have to face on a daily basis, these students are pulling off miracles to present this show of innocense.
For many in the cast this is their first lead in a production. They have handled it well. There are always new faces but this year inparticular. It truly is a blessing to be able to watch these students grow as actors and as human beings.
There are so many people to thank. Our special thanks to Superintendent Paula Deacon, Principals Kathy Ciccolini and Tim Blake for their continuous support of the Fine Arts; Secretaries; Deborah Kelly and Sheila Devarney; Financial Analyst Penelope Munsey; Bob Healy for starting the All City Musical with me, as well as his continuous support with microphones; to Steve Dauphinais for his help with microphones; to Ms. Andrea Mastroianni and Mr.Tim Smith for all their help; and Mr. Larry Zuaro for his continuous support and help.
The amount of Time, Energy and Love Ms Brenda LeMay (our Director) gives these students is amazing. The dedication it takes to direct a show is immense. She handles it well. Never complaining, always dedicated and completes these tasks with grace.
Lastly this note is to you. Obviously by being here you enjoy and realiize it is the Fine Arts and our understanding of them that makes us Human. These are precarious times. Please keep watch over our education system, that we don't become sterile, full of facts and figures and not knowing what to do them all. Help us teach our children how to be human, how to handle emotions, how to overcome adversity, how to make humane decisions. Make them aware of the un-measurable. Use your voice or the Fine Arts will become a thing of the past.
