Welcome to the Jo Ann Caines Theatre Collective: Santa Barbara School of Preforming Arts and La Cumbre Junior High's 2020 production of Jason Robert Brown’s, Dan Elish’s , and Robert Horn’s beautifully written play 13. We are very honored to have been to bring to life this hilariously funny coming of age story of a boys journey in discovering what it means to becoming a man.
When Evan Goldman’s parents decide to get divorced, he is torn away from his home in New York City; leaving behind all his friends and the social status with whom he had been affiliated . Finding himself in the small town of Appleton Indiana, where he knows no one, he is forced to start building a new life and begin making friends all over again. With his upcoming Bar Mitzvah and possible popularity on the line, Evan is forced to experience the growing pains of learning the real meaning of friendship and what is most important in life.
This heart-felt story hits home with so many people young and old because at one time or another we have all been faced with the reality of growing up and learning life lessons that sometimes can be a painful journey in finding out truly what is important in life and what is not.
Thank you for coming to see these wonderful youth who have worked tirelessly to bring this production to life over the past two months. Your support and encouragement is why these productions are so wonderful.
Thank you to all the cast, crew and production team of 13 for making this play possible. We are truly blessed to have each and every one of you!!
Enjoy the show!
