Welcome to the world of "Annie"! It is a world filled with delightful, touching, and fun-filled music and populated by bunches of cute little orphans who happen to live with an evil-through-and-through villain named Miss Hannigan. Enter a successful businessman into the plot with a good and true heart and his beautiful and faithful secretary who is poised and sweet to a fault. Lurking in the background would be Rooster, Miss Hannigan's no-good brother. Not only is he a sleazy con man but he also hangs out with Lily, a definite floozy and bimbo, just as set on cheating an honest buck out of some naive and trusting good citizen as her boyfriend, Rooster!
Yet just as the plot begins to thicken and skies are turning gray, we remember our heroine, Annie, who has a knack for finding sunshine in every tomorrow and can dance and sing with the best of them. (And she even has a cute and loveable dog!) Throw these characters, along with a talented ensemble, who can dance and sing their hearts out, into the mix and you have the basic recipe for one of Broadway's best-loved musical dishes.
"Annie" has wowed us, moved us, tickled our funny bones, and simply amazed us down through the years with a story that never seems to age or lose its appeal. When we find ourselves for a moment in "a hard-knock life", we tend to search for that smile, that spunky person, that ray of light that will somehow transfer us to a tomorrow that is full of sunshine. So it is that we present "Annie" to you, our audience, as a true gift of the arts. We hope that each and every one of you will embrace this musical theatre gem. We also hope to afford you a couple of hours of laughter, sentimentality, and quality entertainment. May all of you experience the magic that can come to life on a stage. Welcome to live theatre!
