Frozen KIDS - November 12

Sophie Dance Westside Players

  End Notes

A Note from the Director

My first love was theatre.  In fact, I had dreamed of being on Broadway since I was 8 years old.  However, as I grew up, I realized that I hated the winter, so I decided I would pursue an acting career in the film industry in Los Angeles instead of in theatre in New York.

After moving here in 2015, I soon realized that although I was still acting, it just wasn't the same as live theatre.  It no longer brought me the joy I felt on stage as a kid.

Cue Sophie Pierce entering my life.  I found solace in Sophie Dance.  I found I could merge my passion for the arts, my love of working with kids, and my organizational brain by working the desk for Miss Sophie.  It was because of Sophie Dance that I found I had the courage to quit acting.  I had found a safe place to land and something I loved doing that wasn't acting.  I'll be forever grateful to Sophie and the rest of the Sophie Dance family for this.

But after a few years, I started doing a little more soul searching and in March of this year I mentioned to Sophie how much I missed theatre and how much my youth theatre meant to me growing up.  Without hesitation, she turned to me and said, "Ok then, let's fix that.  Let's do youth theatre at Sophie Dance!"  I couldn't believe she had just suggested it so casually, but as she said it, I realized it would be a dream come true.  So, Sophie, thank you for your confidence, thank you for believing in me, trusting the process, and investing in our future.

So, cheers to the Sophie Dance Westside Players!  Thank you all for being a part of this new adventure!

With love and gratitude,

Miss Kat
