DIRECTOR'S NOTES
Welcome back to live theatre with Southgate Community Players! I am thrilled you’re joining us for our first adult show since February 2020. It’s been too long, and we’ve missed performing for you.
What a show to welcome you back! Almost, Maine is, at it’s plainest, a play about people, relationships, and the small moments in life that change everything. My incredibly talented cast has poured their hearts and souls into making the people of Almost real for you. Their commitment to these roles is noticeable in the every look that crosses their faces, and in every word they speak. I am forever indebted to them for understanding and accepting my vision, and for using it as a jumping off point to build their beautiful, strange characters.
On the surface, this play about emotions and relationships seems simple. But true to life, it’s anything but. There’s a little bit of everything here, plus a whole lot of magic.
