SETTING

 

This play is set in the present, at various locales in Almost, Maine, a small town in far northern Maine that doesn't quite exist. All events transpire over the same ten minutes--from around 8:50 to a bit after 9 PM--on a cold, clear, moonless, slightly surreal Friday night in the middle of the deepest part of a Northern Maine winter.


 

PROLOGUE

PETE (David Banach) and GINETTE (Meghan Zula), who have been dating for a little while.

 


 

ACT ONE

 

Her Heart

EAST (Jordan Treger), a repairman, and GLORY (Melissa Lentine), a hiker.

 

Sad and Glad

JIMMY (Mike Whitcher), a heating and cooling guy; SANDRINE (Hannah Bogda), his ex-girlfriend; a salty WAITRESS (Isabella Kroczaleski).

 

This Hurts

MARVALYN (Sydnee Corbin), a woman who is very good at protecting herself, and STEVE (Forest Hudson), an open, kind fellow whose brother protects him.

 

Getting It Back

GAYLE (Ana McKeehan) and LENDALL (Branden Omoregie), longtime girlfriend and boyfriend.

They Fell

DEENA (Meghan Zula) and SHELLY (Isabella Kroczaleski), two "County Girls".

PHIL (David Banach), a hard-working husband, and his hard-working wife MARCI (Melissa Lentine).

 

Story of Hope

HOPE (Kristi Ball), who has traveled the world, and MAN (Jordan Treger), who has not.

 

Seeing the Thing
RHONDA (Sydnee Corbin), a tough woman, and DAVE (Chris Warnke), the not-so-tough man who loves her.
