Chris Walker has recently completed his MA in Performance and aims to bring some fresh styles of directing to Southgate Drama & Social Group. With an interest in developing local talent, his directing style aims to bring the best out of cast members young and old. 'Big: The Musical' will be the second show Chris has directed at Southgate and he hopes to build on the success of last year's 'Oliver!'. Previously he has appeared in a number or roles at Southgate, including The Man in 'Whistle Down the Wind,' the Tin Man in 'The Wizard of Oz,' and Joseph in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'. Most recently, he has appeared in 'Dry Rot' and 'The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940'. He also has a cameo in 'Big', playing Nick.

Keira Watson
Musical Director
Keira is a Musical Director and freelance music teacher. This is her fourth musical at Southgate, after playing trumpet for 'Blitz!', then being MD for 'Whistle Down the Wind' and 'Oliver!'. She's also appeared in two Southgate plays: 'Dry Rot' and 'The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940'. She has a degree in Music, with a specialism in accompanying vocal and instrumental performers. Her instruments include piano, cornet and trumpet, and she plays French Horn with Halifax Symphony Orchestra. As MD at Southgate she aims to make the music fun and accessible to everyone while building skills in harmony and technique. She has enjoyed the wide range of styles in 'Big: The Musical', from Jazz and Pop to Classical: something for everyone to enjoy!
