Good evening/afternoon and thank you for supporting the Group in our latest show, 'Big:The Musical'.
First of all, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped the show get to where it is today. Undertaking a relatively unknown musical can be very difficult for amateur performers, and I hope that during the performance you can see the investment each member of the group has made over the last few months.
From as early as July, the cast have worked relentlessly on acting, dance and song, unveiling once again here at Southgate a massive range of talent from within our community. Although the show has been directed by me, a lot of the mannerisms and characterisation have come from the performers themselves!
We are a small group, whose aim is to encourage local people of all ages to develop their performance skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere. We are constantly on the lookout for new members, from being on stage, to helping out in other areas such as set design and stage management. There are no fees to pay and all we ask for is enthusiasm and commitment.
Now we perform a musical a year alongside either a play or cabaret event, there’s always opportunities for members of the local community.
