St. Francis of Assisi Drama Club

 Letter From The Director

* A Letter from the Director *

Dear Cast, Crew, Volunteers, Faculty, Staff, and Guests:

I can’t believe that eleven years ago, the St. Francis of Assisi Drama Club were making their debut of High School Musical here in the St. Frances of Rome Auditorium. Bringing Broadway to the Bronx is never an easy task, but like Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it you can do it,” and we certainly have done it once again!

To all of the parent volunteers, faculty, and staff: Again I thank you!  Once again you have supported this program and me with no questions asked.  You have allotted me the gift and opportunity to transform from principal to director. I sincerely want you to know that I’m truly appreciative for all of your faith and encouragement!

To my alumni: Year after year, I know I can always rely on your help. You never disappoint me and your commitment to this program & to this school, is a constant reminder of why I do what I do. Your hard work is what fills the stage with purpose and meaning.  Thank you for your dedication and I am truly honored to have been your teacher and principal!

To my crew: You are truly the “Behind the scenes magic!”  Without you, the stage would just be an empty space, but because of your hard work and dedication, you bring life to the stage! Thank you for all of the countless hours and unrecognized work that you do.

To my production staff: Well we did it again! It is a true blessing when God brings people together in one another’s lives. You all are a living example of the phrase, “There’s no I in team.” There were times this year when I wasn’t sure if or how we would do it, but we managed to get it done once again! I could never have done this without all of you, and am blessed and grateful be able to share this moment and journey with all of you!

And to the cast: This weekend I want you to use your God given talents and “Carry The Banner!” You are all truly talented and know that here; you’re all “Kings & Queens of NY!” I am honored to be your principal, but even more honored to be your Director. It’s been a blessing to have the opportunity to work with such a remarkable group of young performers. Please know that “I Have Something To Believe In, Now That I Know You Believed In Me!”

At the end of the day, everyone is their own author of their own life story. Remember to stay focused and that “When Ya Got A Hundred Voices Singing…The World Will Know, That This Ain’t No Game!” So the time has come for you “Seize The Day. Stare Down The Odds And Seize The Day. Minute by Minute, That’s How You Win It. We Will Find A Way. But Let Us Seize The Day!” Thank you all and God bless!

Congratulations to All,

Mr. Silva

Principal/Drama Club Director
