Mamma Mia! - April 26 - May 04, 2024

Strawberry Hill Players

 Director's Note

Welcome to The Strawberry Hill Players' production of Mamma Mia! We are thrilled to present this lively and entertaining musical to our school community and beyond. Mamma Mia! is a celebration of love, friendship, and the power of music, and the students have worked incredibly hard to bring this story to life on stage. From the energetic dance numbers to the heartfelt ballads, they have embraced the spirit of ABBA's iconic music and added their own personalities to it. The students had multiple rehearsals focused on character work and discussing their characters' relationships with each other. It was an incredible process to watch the journey of these characters unfold from the first rehearsal to what you are about to see.

This production would not have been possible without the amazing adult production team assembled for this show. The SHP program is incredibly lucky to have such passionate and talented adults leading the way. First, I would like to thank the two newcomers to the team, Wayne and Adam, for being our Tech Coordinator and Pit Conductor. Thanks to our MD, Jerold, and choreographer Caitlin for bringing the music and movement to life. Stephen’s attention to detail and passion for this program make him a valuable asset to the Strawberry Hill Players and an amazing assistant director on this production. Lastly, I would like to thank my co-advisor and costumer, Annie, for her countless hours working on this show and running the club throughout the year. The SHP program is incredibly lucky to have such passionate and talented adults leading the way.

I would like to thank the incredible cast and crew for your passion, commitment, and hard work. The talent of these students is incredible. I am in awe of their work ethic and dedication to The Strawberry Hill Players. Finally, I would like to thank you for being here tonight! Your support means a lot to the students and this program. Please continue to support the arts and music in schools and the community! Now sit back, relax, or even dance in the aisles as you enjoy our production of Mamma Mia!
