As the curtain falls on ”Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” I stand amazed again at what we’ve accomplished as a community. I am honored to work in the Capitol Hill Cluster among so many supportive parents, teachers, neighboring schools, and community members. However, I am most inspired by our students who discover their love for theater through these school productions.
Ours is a program where students are able to artistically connect from the youngest of ages to explore deciding whether to pursue the Arts as a passion in high school or beyond. Even after the show, our students’ stories and opportunities will go on. But for now, in this moment and place they learn that everyone can contribute, everyone can create, and most importantly, every one matters.
