Cymbeline - October 21 - October 24, 2021

Suffolk University Theatre Department

 Welcome

It a joy to welcome you to The Suffolk University Theatre Department’s fall main-stage production of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline at The Steps at Downtown Crossing!

We are so fortunate to be returning to live theater after being sidetracked for most of the last two years. We are grateful that you have chosen to share this wonderful experience with us.

This return to live performance is largely thanks to our partnership with Downtown Boston BID and the exhaustive work of our imaginative directors, our plucky production team, and our student actors who give so much of themselves to productions. Having the opportunity to perform out-of-doors in the heart of downtown Boston is a first for the Theatre department and it has been a welcome challenge for us.

We are fortunate to have our own Assistant Professor Laura Shink working in an exciting directorial collaboration with the director and Shakespearean scholar Kristi Artinian. Also helping bring Cymbeline to life are theatre artists, Aubrey Dube (Sound Design), Rob Najarian (Stage Combat/Fight Choreographer), Leslie Held (Costume Design) and Jon Savage (Scene Design). Having these dedicated professionals mentor our students and work alongside our supportive faculty and staff has provided an unparalleled learning experiences for students.

We are elated at the outcome, and the students are ecstatic! I hope you enjoy this production of Cymbeline as much as the Theatre Department has enjoyed bringing it to the stage.
