Rick St. Peter is thrilled to be directing his first hometown show for a company he has long admired. A native of Newport News, he has returned to the area after a 25-year career in professional and academic theatre that has taken him across the United States and Europe. He is the recipient of the prestigious Princess Grace Foundation Theater Award, a member of the Lincoln Center Theatre Directors Lab, a past participant in the LaMaMa/Umbria International Director’s Symposium held in Spoleto, Italy and served as the inaugural chair of the Directing Committee for the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC). He was a 2016-17 Fulbright Scholar in Romania and since 2006 he has been a Visiting Lecturer at London’s Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance. He has also taught or guest lectured at Trinity College, Dublin, Clemson University, the University of Kentucky, Centre College (KY), Kentucky State University, Virginia Union University, Christopher Newport University and many others.
