The Governor's School for the Arts

 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

At The Governor’s School for the Arts, we are committed to developing not only the skills of our young performers but also to their discovering their voices as stortellers. This production is the culmination of months of rigorous training, collaboration, and personal discovery. It reflects the questions, passions, and perspectives that define this new generation of artists.

In directing this piece, my goal has been to create a space where bold choices are celebrated, vulnerability is protected, and ensemble is paramount. The students you see onstage have pushed beyond technique to find authenticity. Together we’ve wrestled with complexity, questioned assumptions, and embraced the uncertainty that often accompanies true artistry.

Our school stands proudly at the intersection of tradition and innovation. This show reflects that spirit. Whether you're here for the first time (thank you for joining us!) or a returning supporter of our work (thank you for your continued support!), I hope you leave tonight not just entertained, but stirred—by the talent, the craft, and the courage it takes to tell stories that reveal and celebrate humanity, which is to say, imperfection.

Thank you for supporting young artists. Their voices are needed now more than ever.
