LAUREN LEONG (Director) Lauren Leong is a teaching artist who has worked for Starting Arts, Stage Kids, Audacity Performing Arts Project, & Tada Theater in NYC. Mrs. Leong has taught and directed theatre in over 20 public schools. She developed and directed a summer theatre program and multiple performing groups. She is also on staff for Starting Arts’ Dream Team. Lauren serves as guest faculty at a variety of arts organizations including theatre companies and dance studios. She holds a degree in Theater with a minor in Marketing from APU, and is also a proud alum of the apprenticeship programs at New York Theatre Workshop and New Victory Theater. Lauren can be seen performing professionally in the Bay Area. She is a private audition and performance coach, and her greatest passion is inspiring creativity in students and helping them thrive in whatever they do.

 

 

STACEY REED (Choreographer) Stacey Reed is The King’s Academy dance teacher and a TKA alumna. After graduating from TKA in 2006, Stacey earned her degree in dance at San Jose State University. She has been active in a variety of Bay Area performing arts venues, ranging from modern dance companies, hip hop groups, theme park shows and musical theater productions. Stacey met her husband sharing the stage during a Bay Area musical production. She enjoys sharing her love for musical theater and dance. She is blessed to be a part of this musical production at The King’s Academy.

 

 

KRISSY WESTON (Vocal Director) A graduate of San Jose State, Krissy has been teaching music in the Bay Area since 2007 as a private voice teacher and a public school music teacher, directing youth percussion, choir and dance. She has studied the science and sound of the voice and all of its possibilities extensively, through various training programs recognized worldwide and continues her education, throughout the year. Prior to her Bay Area education, Krissy studied all aspects of musical theatre in Santa Monica, acting as choreographer and vocal assistant in college productions. Krissy has performed in over 40 musicals throughout Northern, Central, and Southern California.  She has enjoyed working with such a talented, thoughtful cast of students and a thoroughly devoted staff.  Enjoy the show!

 

 

LINUS WONG (Conductor) Linus Wong is a keyboard player first, with a variety of styles and interests. He enjoys classical and jazz, but his favorite undertaking is musical theater. He picked up piano at the age of six, and at the age of 14, was selected to be a Junior Bach Festival winner and performer. After playing for last year's production of The Pajama Game, Linus returns to TKA this year to pick up the baton and conduct. Music is a lifelong passion, and Linus strives to inspire young people to find joy in the arts.
