    Playwright, Actor, Founder and Artistic Director of The Veteran’s Spouse Project.

        Amy received her BA in theater performance from Purdue University.  She spent several years as a working actor in New York City, where she acted at the Public Theater in the Shakespeare Lab.  She has also taught and directed children's theatre all over the country for the last 20 years. Amy wrote I Will Wait in 2015 and founded The Veteran's Spouse Project in 2017. Amy lives on Fort Benning, GA with her husband, LTC Jamie Uptgraft and their four children.

    Wendy Caldwell

    LPC, NCC, M.Ed., Expressive Arts Director of the Veteran’s Spouse Project. 

        Wendy holds a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a ME in Counseling. She is the recipient of a Creative Arts Therapy Merit Scholarship, has studied Creative Arts Therapy with Pratt Institute, and is a graduate of the residential program cohort at the Person Centered Expressive Arts Therapy Institute in CA. Wendy is a licensed School, a National Certified, and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has worked in a variety of school systems, military transition services, and currently works as a Therapist at Providence Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.  Wendy is a military spouse of 16 years and mother of two little ones.

    Lea Johnson

    Owner and CEO of Sliger Holdings, LLC and Managing Director of the Veteran’s Spouse Project.

         Lea holds a M.Ed from the University of Florida. Lea is the CEO of Sliger Holdings and the founder of the non-profit, Let it Shine Celebrations, based out of Fayetteville, NC.  Lea has served in numerous arts organizations and sat on various advisory boards. Lea and her family were named the Fort Bragg Family of the Year in 2014. Lea has been married to LTC Rick Johnson for the last 13 years and is currently stationed on Fort Polk, LA. with their three children.
