Tower Theatre

 End Notes

A Note From The Director

Dear Cast and Supporters,

Every moment in our community theatre journey radiates with magic and endless possibility. The energy you infuse into every rehearsal, every performance, and every shared smile or tear transforms mere words on a page into a living, breathing masterpiece.

Stepping onto the stage before a sea of expectant eyes is an act of courage, and you have embraced that challenge with unwavering bravery and grace. Your willingness to take risks and push creative boundaries has given birth to something truly extraordinary.

To the cast of Leading Ladies: thank you for pouring your heart and soul into every performance. Your talent, dedication, and camaraderie have not only brought this story to life but have also strengthened our vibrant, supportive community—a team that fills me with immense pride.

I also want to honor the rich legacy of the Tower Theater—a cornerstone of the RGV arts since April 2, 1970. Born from the visionary dreams of Shirley Atkins, who transformed an eyesore into a dynamic community gathering space, the Tower Theater stands as a beacon where differences fade and creativity unites us all. Her inspiring vision continues to motivate us to nurture and grow this cherished venue, ensuring it remains a sanctuary for the arts and a home for our community for generations to come.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to the City of Weslaco, Mayor Adrian Gonzalez, City Manager Martin Garza, Parks Director Omar Rodriguez, and our City Commissioners. Your steadfast support is the foundation that allows our creative spirit to soar.

Together, we are creating a legacy of art, passion, and unity. Let’s continue to embrace the journey ahead, carrying with us the memories, the friendships, and the lessons that make our community so uniquely inspiring.

With gratitude,

Steve Urbina
