A Message from the Director

'Bright young women, sick of swimming, ready to stand....'

We all need to stretch our legs and find our footing in life. Ariel's journey in this story is all about that self-discovery; finding her place in a new, uncertain world. The show speaks so much to the human story of learning to grow, mature, and love - and for parents and other care-givers to know when to let children be free become whomever they truly want to be.

Welcome to UNIS' 2017 Middle School production of 'The Little Mermaid'. This performance is the culmination of five months of rehearsal time for our 80-member cast, whose diligence, commitment and love of the theater arts is on display for you to enjoy. I'd like to thank our amazing production team who never cease to impress me with their talent, enthusiasm and good humor, to our fabulous parents who have provided constant support throughout the rehearsal period. And finally, a special thank you to our wonderful cast of energetic kids. It's been a joy to work with you. We've been on a delightful journey of discovery together which has already created such powerful memories to treasure.

Enjoy the ride!
