Welcome to The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical!
At its core, this story of Percy and his friends is a journey to discover who they truly are, face their fears, and perhaps most importantly, find where they belong. Our production explores the power of that sense of belonging, asking the big question: What does it take to become a hero?
For Percy, the journey to heroism isn’t just about battling monsters or wielding powers. It’s about learning to accept his differences, embrace his unique strengths, and realize he’s not alone in his struggles. Surrounded by other “half-bloods” who are also searching for acceptance, Percy’s heroism grows out of this community. He discovers that he doesn’t need to face the world alone—his courage is amplified by the bonds he forges, and his growth is rooted in friendship, loyalty, and resilience.
This production is a celebration of the idea that heroism comes in many forms. Whether it’s standing up for yourself, being there for a friend, or choosing the harder, braver path, the courage to act heroically often comes from knowing we are valued, loved, and part of something bigger than ourselves. In both the smallest and most profound ways, belonging helps each of us to find the strength to be a hero.
Thank you for joining us in celebrating this story of adventure, friendship, and the journey to finding where we fit in the world. We hope it leaves you inspired to discover your own heroic potential, wherever you may belong.
Enjoy the show!
