Dear Families, Friends, and Theater Lovers,

Welcome to the UPMS production of Seussical Jr.! We are delighted you have joined us to celebrate imagination, friendship, and the joyful chaos of Dr. Seuss’ world. This show is the heartfelt result of teamwork, curiosity, and hard work from our talented students, dedicated volunteers, and supportive staff and families.

Seussical Jr. is a playful mash-up of our beloved Seuss stories, filled with colorful characters, upbeat music, and big theatrical moments. Our cast has worked to bring Horton’s kindness, the Cat’s mischief, and the Whos’ wonder to life—all while learning the important and valuable skills of collaboration, responsibility, and creative expression. We are all so proud of the energy and creativity our students bring to this performance. From the build crew working with tools they have never seen, to paint crew working with mediums they never dreamed, to the light crew of over 80 light cues, to our cast singing and dancing over 40 songs (it is a mini-Operetta if you think about it!). This student-run production has worked hard and we could not be more impressed.  

Tonight, sit back and enjoy the colors, the laughs, and the heart. Seussical Jr. reminds us that together we can celebrate differences, stand up for others—no matter how small—and keep imagination at the center of our lives. As we enter “Read Across America” week next week, we challenge you to read, discuss books, and talk about All the Thinks You Can Think.
