    Crystal is thrilled to perform with Urban Arts Collective for the 1st time! Regional credits include: Chicken and Biscuits,The View Upstairs (Uptown Players); Abyssinia, Cabin in the Sky (Lyric Stage); Porgy and Bess (Fort Worth Opera-Bass Hall); Sister Act (WaterTower Theatre); Ain’t Misbehavin’,This Random World (Circle Theatre); Auntie Explains X-Mas, The Color Purple (regional premier), Alice Wonder, Harlem Blues, God's Trombones, Lysistrata (Jubilee Theatre); Origin of the Specifics (Hip Pocket Theatre); The King and I (Casa Mañana);  and Sam Shade (DVA Productions). Crystal would like to thank her amazingly supportive family, with special thanks to her Love, and the 4 Js! (Joseph III, Joseph IV, Jordyn, and Jonah!). Mom… I know you have your front row seat from heaven! Crystal holds a B.A, B.F.A and an M.Ed from Texas Wesleyan University, and received the 2024 Irma P. Hall Black Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Play.

    Shennaya is excited to return to the Urban Arts stage. She was last seen in Love You Madly: Celebrating the Life and Music of Duke Ellington as a featured vocalist, in the Dallas Sings Music Series as vocal director and featured vocalist, and in An Oak Cliff Carol as lyricist and vocal arranger. Her other credits include Éponine in Les Misérables and soloist in The Civil War. When she’s not on stage, Shennaya enjoys writing songs, helping others discover their musical voice, leading worship, and guiding her clients on their loc journey as a master loctician.

    James, a Louisiana native, is an Artist and Arts Administrator with 26 years of experience supporting and managing creatives in youth education spaces. After a 15-year hiatus from performing, he returns to the stage with past credits in theater, musical, and commercial productions across Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. James holds an M.A. in Arts Administration and is the Founder of Creative Exchange, a platform dedicated to connecting professionals and creatives through collaboration.
